Frequently Asked Questions

Modular Racks:

Q: Can I put two longboards with fins on 2 sets of racks?
A: Yes, but do not connect the second set of racks to the first and space them approx. 3 inches apart to accommodate the longer fin. Or, if you have both longboards and shortboards, try switching from longboard to shortboard, etc. Heavy Duty Racks are the best way to go for longboards.

Q. How much weight will Nice Racks support?
A: Each set of Nice Racks are intended for single shortboards and modern longboards 9'0 and under. Stand-up paddle boards
or large longboards weighing more than 25 lbs are not recommended.

Q. Are the racks padded?
A: Each arm and wall mount is covered with a 1/4 inch thick medium density foam tape to protect boards for dings and scratches.

Q: I have 3 sets of Nice Racks on my wall now.  Can I move a set to another wall?
A: Yes, Nice Rack's design allows you to relocate racks at any time.  Just remove the arms from the wall mounts of the Nice Rack you wish to remove, remove the screws from the wall mounts and slide the wall mounts off the wall (you may need to wiggle the wall mount loose as it is a snug fit).  Add the protective end caps to the remaining Nice Racks and you're ready to relocate the removed Nice Rack to another location.

Q. What is the length of the support arm and at what angle is it?
A: The arm is ~ 16 inches long and angles up at 22%.

Q. I am considering installing 4 sets of racks for my 4 boards?  How much wall space do I need and do I need to leave some extra room for the top rack since the arm is at an angle?
A: Each wall mount is ~ 8.0 inches long so you'll need ~ 32 inches of wall space to install the 4 sets of racks. Also, you'll need a minimum of 8 to 10 inches above the top set of racks to allow enough space to place a board on the top rack.

Q. If the wall mounts are snapped together, how much space is there between each set of arms?
A: There is ~ 7.5 inches of space between the arms.

Q. I want to order 6 sets of racks.  Do I order a Quad and Double or is there another way to order?
A: To obtain the best pricing, we recommend you place an order for a Quad and select 'add additional racks' from the drop down menu for the desired quantity, ie.. add 1, 2, or 3 more sets. Any additional sets are discounted accordingly and you will receive free shipping for the entire order.

Heavy Duty Racks:

Q: What is the difference between a Heavy Duty and Modular Rack?

A: Nice Rack Heavy Duty racks were developed to hold heavy longboards and SUPs. Like Modular Racks, these racks are also great for shortboards, snowboards, and wakeboards. The difference is in strength. Modular Racks were designed to hold under 25lbs, while Heavy Duty Racks can hold up to 50lbs.

Q: Why do Heavy Duty Racks come in different shapes?

A: Heavy Duty racks are designed for different situations and boards. SUP racks for SUP boards, and Standard racks for longboard surfboards. Angle and Horizontal Racks are two ways to store a board on your wall, and ceiling racks are for overhead storage in your garage or home.
